MAY 30, Saturday, 9am - 1pm
Learn to love and master the jeweler's saw! By making this overlay tree pendant, you will learn the basics of sawing a pattern as well as how to "draw" with your saw. Get better acquainted with sawblade sizes and sawing techniques. Everyone will start out with a basic tree, but how the tree looks in the end will be unique and individual. You can add extra elements, stamp or texture the piece, dome it or leave it flat. We will also oxidize our pendants with Liver of Sulfur.
Level II Metalworking ("Intro to Soldering" is required first)
Tools: Included
Materials: Not included, Cost of Materials Kit TBA
JUNE 13-14 Saturday and Sunday, 9am - 3pm
Everyone wants to set stones! Over the course of two six-hour days (with lunch breaks!), we will become familiar with bezel setting techniques. This class involves a thorough explanation of bezel setting, including information about unusual or difficult setting situations. We will finish two projects, the first is more structured for a solid skills foundation. The second project is more personal - you get to make (nearly) anything you want!
The “kit” cost will be an estimate and may change depending on choices you make during the workshop. The pictures are a close representation to what we will make, but the final product is subject to change.

A different way to show off your stone! Set the cabochon so it floats within a ring of silver. Using tab-setting with no silver backplate, light is able to transmit through the stone. It’s wonderful for translucent stones but it works well with opaque ones too. You will need to bring a round cabochon (or oval, if you are up for a challenge) that is not terribly thick. If you’re not sure what stone to bring, bring a few to have options or purchase one at the studio.

Let’s learn to make soldered jewelry! Over the course of two six-hour days (with lunch breaks!), we will work through introductory information and safety, two jewelry projects, and end with some open time for follow-up, finishing, and free-design. We learn to use a torch for soldering, but so much more: ring sizing, stone setting, texturing, finishing, oxidizing, sawing and other techniques will be covered.
The “kit” cost will be an estimate and may change depending on choices you make during the workshop. The pictures are a close representation to what we will make, but the final product is subject to change.
