Floating Tab-Set Pendant

$90.00

JULY 11, Saturday, 9am - 1pm

A different way to show off your stone! Set the cabochon so it floats within a ring of silver. Using tab-setting with no silver backplate, light is able to transmit through the stone. It’s wonderful for translucent stones but it works well with opaque ones too. You will need to bring a round cabochon (or oval, if you are up for a challenge) that is not terribly thick. If you’re not sure what stone to bring, bring a few to have options or purchase one at the studio.

Level II Metalworking ("Intro to Soldering Workshop" is required first)
Tools: Included
Materials: Not included, Cost of Materials Kit TBA, read more below

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT MATERIALS:

If a class has a materials kit associated with it, it is usually paid for and provided at the time of the class. Unless I hear otherwise, I assume you will be getting your materials from me. SILVER PRICES ARE VOLATILE. I can’t predict the cost of kits as far in advance as I used to, but I will email students the expected cost as soon as I have it calculated.
Getting the kit from me is not required, and if you’d prefer to bring your own supplies, you MUST notify me within a week of the class (or sooner) so I can get you the materials list and answer any questions you might have. It also helps me prepare the correct number of kits ahead of the class.
